Our Providers

Family Health Care offers well-trained and experienced medical providers to partner with you, ensuring you have access to the best health care in a safe and caring environment.  Ours is an open practice, so you do not have to be assigned to just one provider.  Instead you have access to our entire team.

Doctor of Medicine (MD)

Medical doctors obtain a four year college degree with four more years in an accredited medical school.  All of Family Health Care's doctors have then received an additional three or more years of specialty training in Family Practice and are board certified in Family Medicine.

Physician's Assistant (PA)

Physician assistants graduate from a 2 to 3 year physician assistant education program after earning their bachelor's.  They may specialize in areas such as family medicine, women’s health, pediatrics, emergency care, or other areas.  Physician Assistants perform: physical examinations, diagnose/treat illnesses, order/interpret lab tests, perform procedures, assist in surgery, provide patient education/counseling, and make rounds in hospitals/nursing homes.  All 50 states and the District of Columbia allow PAs to practice and prescribe medications.  PAs deliver high-quality care and research shows that patients are just as satisfied with PA-provided care as they are with physician care.

Nurse Practitioner (NP)

A nurse practitioner is a registered nurse (RN) who has completed advanced education beyond the initial nursing degree.  This requires a minimum of a master's degree in nursing.  NPs provide a variety of critical health services including: evaluating patients, making diagnoses, ordering/interpreting diagnostic tests, writing prescriptions, and managing acute/chronic health conditions.  This also includes the oversight of patients with multiple and complex chronic illness.  NPs are providers of choice for millions of individuals and families.  They are especially educated and prepared to care for vulnerable populations such as the elderly, the medically underserved, and those who live in rural areas that have more acutely experienced the primary care provider shortage.
